Lesson learned

Oh boy are we exhausted!!! This past weekend was a test and a lesson for us. God was teaching us just what we can and cannot handle and we sure got what he was saying. We did our usual days of  Brookwood on Friday and Harvest Saturday morning but we were invited to do a one day market at CC of the South. Wanting to take every opportunity God gives us we said yes and we now know it was a lesson for us. After baking from 5:30a.m. on Thursday till 5:30p.m. (we committed to be at our church that night from 6-10:30) then again from 5:30 till 2:30 on Friday. Plus 8:30-12:45 after market that night! We then drove up to Harvest that morning, came home packed up and when to CC of the south till 3:30. We are exhausted and I now know I can't handle a full market on Saturdays! We are so grateful for all the opportunities given to us and thank you all for your support. It will be a long time before we will learn a hard lesson like that again, we pray! Blessings Lauren

We are so blessed to have been asked to be a part of Cumming Harvest. This is a wonderful opportunity for us and we are so happy to be involved. You can now visit the Cumming Harvest website to order our baked goods to be picked up on Saturday mornings. They have a wonderful group of local farmers and growers that also have goods available for purchase. Visit http://www.cumming.locallygrown.net/ for more information. Blessings Lauren

Market extended

We are so excited that the Brookwood Farmers Market has decided to extend the market. They will now be open through the month of October and we will be there. I can't wait for the cooler weather and for the great flavors that Fall brings. This week was the first week we had an apple vendor and I have been busy today. Made homemade applesauce for the baby this morning and apple pie for dessert tonight. I think there will be apple cinnamon muffins to be made this week! Can't wait to see you all at the market.

Ezekiel Bread

We love this bread for so many reasons. It is so good and good for you to name a few.
This wonderful bread comes from Ezekiel 4:9 in the bible and it is often called a fasting bread because Ezekiel survived on just this bread and water for 390 days. This is a very nutritious bread and the combination of beans and lentils forms a complete protein. I found this explanation on the food for life website, they make a frozen version of Ezekiel bread.

A complete protein is created that closely parallels the protein found in milk and eggs. In fact, the protein quality is so high, that it is 84.3% as efficient as the highest recognized source of protein, containing all 9 essential amino acids. There are 18 amino acids present in this unique bread – from all vegetable sources – naturally balanced in nature . Made from organically grown grains, is naturally flavorful and bursting with nutrients. Rich in protein, vitamins, minerals and natural fiber with no added fat.

Blessings, Lauren
